Dear Linden School Community,
Due to the continued increase in cases of COVID-19 in our community, all schools will switch to a virtual learning model for two weeks when we return from Winter Recess.
From January 3 to January 14, all schools will follow a schedule similar to the virtual schedule used during the 2020-21 school year. Students will follow their class schedule on Webex for a half-day, with afternoons reserved for targeted and small-group instruction. Students will return to in-person learning on January 18 following the Martin Luther King Day holiday on January 17.
Click here for full details on that schedule for your school:
Grab-and-go lunches will be available at all schools for students to pick up from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
All teachers and 10-month employees will work virtually January 3 to January 7, and return to their buildings January 10 to January 14 to continue virtual instruction. All administrators and 12-month employees will work in person on an as-needed basis, as directed by their supervisor.
The virtual schedule for Wednesday, January 5, will include no afternoon sessions to allow for staff COVID testing.
Please call our help desk at 908-747-4001 for any technology needs that arise during virtual learning.
We hope this one-week “soft quarantine” will help to deter the spread of the virus in our school community following the holiday travel season. We will reassess to determine if we can return to school safely on January 18, or if we need to remain in a virtual learning model.
We remain committed to the importance of in-person learning for all our students and hope that conditions allow us to return as soon as possible and to continue uninterrupted for the rest of the school year.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to strike a balance between our educational needs and the health and safety of our students and staff.
Carpe diem,
Dr. Marnie Hazelton
Superintendent of Schools
