Whatโ€™s better than learning a new language? Learning it through foodโ€”made from scratch and shared with friends.

Students from Linden High Schoolโ€™s Multilingual Department recently traded textbooks for mixing bowls in a delicious ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ-๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐š๐๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ญ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก๐ฒ ๐ˆ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š โ€“ ๐‹๐š ๐๐ฎ๐จ๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ฎ๐œ๐ข๐ง๐š ๐ข๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ง.

On April 4, 26 students from Ms. Alexandreโ€™s French Club rolled up their sleeves for club enrichment. Then, on April 11, 19 students in Ms. Bertoliโ€™s Italian IB classes took their language skills beyond the classroom and into the kitchen for a cultural immersion experience theyโ€™ll never forget.

At Healthy Italia, located at 53 Main Street in Madison, students were welcomed into a warm, authentic space where food is more than a mealโ€”itโ€™s a celebration of life, culture, and connection.

Guided by expert instructors Cristina, Angela, Emily, and Susan, students prepared seasonal Italian dishes using fresh, simple ingredients and discovered the joyโ€”and flavorโ€”of traditional Mediterranean cooking.

From practicing French and Italian vocabulary to perfecting pasta techniques, our Tigers cooked up confidence, culture, and camaraderie. Huge thanks to Ms. Alexandre and Ms. Bertoli for making this trip as enriching as it was mouthwatering!
