LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ – Our district-wide celebration of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 "𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚" 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 is off to a fantastic start! 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬 and Derek Armstead Mayor of Linden kicked off the week with vibrant and engaging classroom readings at School No. 8 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬.

On Monday, March 3, Superintendent Perkins visited Ms. Amanda Schweikardt's 5th-grade reading class and Ms. Hadya Williams' 3rd-grade math class. The following day, Mayor Armstead visited Ms. Joan Dolan's Kindergarten class and Ms. Kim Picciano's 1st-grade class.

Wide-eyed and engaged, students eagerly listened and asked questions as they journeyed through stories like "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘗𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴" 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘳. 𝘚𝘦𝘶𝘴𝘴' "𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘚𝘢𝘸 𝘐𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘶𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵."
