Through their participation in the Scholastic Reading Clubโ€™s Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive, the school collected 495 pairs of pajamas to benefit Pajama Program, a nonprofit organization supporting children in Union County.

The drive, which began on Oct. 25 with a school-wide Pajama Day, initially set a goal of 435 pairs. Thanks to the generosity of students, families, and staff, the school exceeded expectations, providing cozy pajamas to brighten bedtime for many children.

โ€œThis project is such a wonderful way for our school to come together and help children who need it most,โ€ said 4th grade math teacher Theresa Rogakos, who coordinated the drive. โ€œSeeing the outpouring of support from our School No. 9 family is truly heartwarming.โ€

On Monday morning, a representative from the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) arrived to collect the donations, ensuring that the gift of comfort and warmth reaches children who need it most.

School No. 9โ€™s participation in the Pajama Drive shows how a small act of kindness, like a pair of pajamas, can make a big differenceโ€”even on the coldest of mornings.
