๐™ป๐™ธ๐™ฝ๐™ณ๐™ด๐™ฝ ๐™ฟ๐š„๐™ฑ๐™ป๐™ธ๐™ฒ ๐š‚๐™ฒ๐™ท๐™พ๐™พ๐™ป๐š‚, ๐™ฝ๐™น โ€” The Linden Tigers football team closed out the 2024 season with several players earning postseason recognition for their standout performances.

Led by senior standout Tyrone Hinton Jr., the Tigersโ€™ honors reflect the talent and determination that defined their season, which ended with a 4-6 record and a playoff appearance in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 5 quarterfinals.

Tyrone Hinton Jr., a Class of 2025 athlete, was the cornerstone of Lindenโ€™s success this year, excelling as both quarterback and linebacker. Standing 6โ€™1โ€ and weighing 230 pounds, Hintonโ€™s leadership and versatility earned him All-Union County 1st Team Offense, All Liberty Gold Division 1st Team, and BCC All-Conference Honorable Mention.

On offense, Hinton rushed for 838 yards on 149 attempts and scored 12 touchdowns, showing his ability to consistently break through defenses. On the defensive side, he recorded 60 total tackles, including 40 solo tackles, along with one forced fumble and one interception, establishing himself as a dominant middle linebacker.

Hinton was joined by several teammates who also earned postseason honors. Joe Mesko and Daryl Agyei joined Hinton on the All Liberty Gold Division 1st Team for their significant contributions. Mesko was additionally named to the All-Union County 2nd Team Offense, while Agyei was recognized on the All-Union County 3rd Team Defense.

Defensive standouts Josh Williams and Shahad Brown also received accolades. Williams earned spots on the All-Liberty Gold Division 2nd Team and the All-Union County 3rd Team Defense, while Brown was named to the All-Liberty Gold Division 2nd Team.

Although the Tigersโ€™ playoff run ended with a competitive 28-21 loss to West Orange, the postseason honors reflect the grit, talent, and determination of Lindenโ€™s players. With key contributors like Hinton leading the way, the team has laid a strong foundation for future success.
