Preschool registration for 3 and 4 year olds is by appointment only. Only Linden residents are eligible. Registration will take place at the Central Registration Office, 100 Edgewood Road (not at individual schools). Starting January 2, 2025, call 908-986-9307 to schedule your appointment. To enroll in the Preschool 3 year old program, your child must be three years old on or before October 1, 2025. To enroll in the Preschool 4 year old program, your child must be four years old on or before October 1, 2025. Board policy prohibits early admission. A parent or legal guardian must attend the registration. Registration packets are available online at lindenps.org/central-registration or can be picked up at the Central Registration Office.

• Registration does not guarantee placement in the program, nor does it ensure placement in a particular school.

• If your child is currently enrolled in either Preschool 3 year old or 4 year old classes, you do not need to register again.

• Preschool 4 year old students will be placed at their home schools until capacity is reached. After that, placements will be based on availability. Families will be notified by mail by June 2025 of placement.

• Students who currently attend a Preschool 4 year old class in a school other than their home school will return to their home school for Kindergarten

Families who are concerned about their child's development may access the Child Find website by clicking here. The link will also provide information on community services available, and it will assist the Linden Public School District to identify unserved children who need special education and related services from age three to twenty-one. You may also contact the District's Department of Special Education Services at (908)-587-3285 ext. 8675 to answer any questions regarding the evaluation process.

  W2 form or pay stub for each person (Preschool only).

• You will need to validate your residency. Please bring current mortgage or lease with additional proofs of residency for a total of 6 points. Each document (bills) MUST be dated within 30 days of your registration date and have the current address of the Linden resident.

Please note that children with incomplete registrations will not be accepted.

• All families will register at the Central Registration Office.

• Due to very limited space, registrations completed in full by February 28, 2025 will be entered into a lottery for placement in an in-district classroom.

• Students selected through the lottery process will be placed at School No. 1 or School No.5.

• Students whose families meet the requirements will get priority placement at The Leaguers Head Start.

• Additional placements will be made at Private Providers until capacity is reached.

• Families will be notified by mail by June 2025 if your child is offered a spot in the Preschool three year old program.

• After placement, families will be able to visit Private Provider locations for an open house.
